A project to provide a water and sewer system to the village of Pambak in Gegharkunik region in Armenia.
Pambak is a village of 600 inhabitants, located on the eastern shore of Lake Sevan. This project is sponsored by Joe Yalkezian and Helen Orton and is being accomplished with the help of Shen, a non-governmental organization in Armenia, and the sweat equity of the population of Pambak.
We are very excited about this project and its good, powerful implications to the population of the village; especially because the people of Pambak are refugees from the 1991-94 war. They left all their possessions behind in the war and came to Pambak. We are pleased to say that the project is progressing according to plan and will enhance the living conditions in the village. We have other plans lined up for the village. If you would like to help us with this or other projects, please make a donation on How You Can Help
The main objectives of the project include: building irrigation and potable water networks for the entire village, constructing a sewage system, improving roads, and renovating the school and community center.
We also plan to increase access to health care by renovating first aid posts and training medical staff.
